Course Content
This online course will provide you with an understanding of what motivates us, different types of motivation and the effect this can have on the individual. We will look at the benefits & barriers and how to motivate yourself and others.
During the session you will be able to develop an awareness and understanding of:
• Different types of motivation
• What motivates you and others
• Benefits of motivation
• Barriers to motivation
• How to motivate yourself and others
• Anyone aged 19 or over. This is not a self help group or therapy sessions.
• No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential
This course will be delivered online. You will need access to the internet and an email account. Your teacher will contact you on a weekly basis through Skype, email and Google Classroom and you will have the opportunity to contribute to group discussions across the County. You will be given tasks to complete at each session and instructions and online demonstrations
Your teacher will give you verbal and written feedback throughout the course
You will receive an ALSS certificate of achievement on successful completion of this course

  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your individual employed/self employed income is below £20,319.
  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
