Course Content
This short course is to give you an insight and taster of what is involved in this qualification. It will help you decide if you would like to continue onto the qualification to learn the counselling skills to help enhance your work role, personal life or maybe a new career.
This course is for anyone aged 19 or over who would like to get an introduction and taste of what the NCFE CACHE L2 Certificate in Counselling Skills involves.
No previous experience is required. IT skills are essential
You will need access to a Laptop, Tablet or Smartphone. You may wish to use a memory stick. This course is online. You will need access to the internet and an email account. Your teacher will contact you on a weekly basis through Microsoft Teams, email and OneFile.
There will be a chance to complete small tasks for which and you get verbal and written feedback. Group and pairs activities. There will also be an observed skills practice from peers and teacher.
An attendance certificate will be given, and the opportunity of an interview to join the L2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.

  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your individual employed/self employed income is below £20,319.
  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
