Course Content

This course gives you the opportunity to explore the journey between drawing and design work for textiles. Developing artwork inspired by creative research and experimental methods will lead to the development of your own design ideas for textiles.

You will investigate mark making, line, layering, texture and mixed media methods through experimental drawing; discovering the importance of imaginative research and how to record it in a sketchbook. Image placement, layout, repeats and scale will also be investigated.

Through your own exploration, you will develop versatile design ideas for textiles such as interiors, fashion or soft furnishings.
