Course Content

This course is for anyone who is new to Microsoft Teams and wants to know how to use it to meet online with colleagues, friends and family. The course will demonstrate how to take part and initiate online video meetings. The session will explore the many different features Microsoft Teams has to offer for you to try for yourself including sharing screens and files.

Open Entry Requirements


This course is for anyone aged 19
No previous Teams experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential particularly in the use of internet and email.

Open What Will I Need?


You will need access to a Laptop, Tablet or Smartphone. This course will be delivered online. You will need access to the internet and an email account. Your teacher will contact you via Teams and email you will have the opportunity to contribute to group discussions across the County. You will be given tasks to complete at each session and instructions and online demonstrations.

Open Assessment Methods


Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.

Open What Will I Achieve?


You will receive an ALSS certificate of achievement on successful completion of this course.

  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your individual employed/self employed income is below £20,319.
  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
