Course Content
When life is challenging, self-esteem can be depleted for many reasons. This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to have positive self-esteem and a much positive attitude. You will explore how to develop a realistic view to life and maintain a healthy mental and emotional wellbeing and factors that can affect our thoughts and views to life.

Open Entry Requirements

This course is for anyone aged 19 or over.
No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential.

Open What Will I Need?

This course will be delivered online so you will require access to the internet, an email account and a suitable electronic device such as a smart phone, tablet or laptop. Your teacher will contact you on a weekly basis with a link to join the virtual delivery where you will have the opportunity to contribute to group discussions across the County. You will be given tasks to complete at each session and instructions and online demonstrations.

You will receive an ALSS certificate of achievement on successful completion of this course

You could progress to another course and enhance your knowledge further.

  • English, maths including GCSEs and computing courses (up to Level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2023).
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your individual employed/self employed income is below £20,319.
  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
