Learning in the local community has changed the lives of many adults across North Yorkshire and you could be one of them!
Research shows that learning throughout adulthood and into later life encourages important social interaction, gives a sense of hope and purpose and helps cope with stress, all of which has a positive impact on maintaining and improving our mental health and wellbeing.
This course will provide an insight into the local myths and legends in your area. You will look at the origin of the tales and how the stories have been shared. This could be to support an interest in the local area or as an introduction to writing short fictional stories.
During the course you will:
• Read a range of myths, legends and folktales
• Interpret links to the local areas
• Understand the value of stories
This course is delivered for up to 10 hours in weekly sessions
