This course will provide an AAT accredited qualification for those who are new to bookkeeping or those in an accounting role looking for an accounting qualification.
By the end of the course using manual book keeping students will be able to:
• Produce a range of accounting documents
• Enter supplier and other payments
• Enter customer and other receipts
• Produce a cash and petty cash book
• Complete bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
• Complete double-entry T accounts
• Produce a trial balance
• Produce stock valuations using a variety of methods
• Understand cost behaviour
• Have a knowledge of legislation and policies in the workplace
• Use Sage accounting software to;
• Set up accounts
• Make supplier and other payments
• Enter customer and other receipts
• Process invoices and credit notes
• Complete a bank reconciliation
• Create customer statements
• Produce supplier remittances
• Produce basic reports showing information entered
The content is covered in 5 modules (Bookkeeping Transactions, Bookkeeping Controls, Using Accounting Software, Elements in Costing and Working Effectively).
This course is suitable for those with some accounts knowledge who are in an office environment, those going self-employed or looking to retrain for an accounting/bookkeeping role.
Additional Information
To complete this qualification, learners must register with AAT in order to sit the assessment and receive access to study support resources via their My AAT account. This will be done in class and will give access to the AAT website for a 12-month period.
Learners who have a criminal record, been bankrupted or have a CCJ (County Court Judgement) will need to be aware that this does not affect the sitting of AAT assessments but may impact on AAT full membership or employment.
