Course Content

This qualification is designed to prepare you for employment and support you to progress into a teaching role within the workplace in the post-16 education and training sector. You will gain knowledge of roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, inclusive teaching and learning approaches and how to facilitate learning and development for individuals and groups.

As this course will be delivered online you will require basic IT skills to take part in the virtual classroom. You must have attended the Introduction to Working in Adult Education and Training before you are able to progress to this qualification.

You will require an email account, access to the internet and a suitable electronic device such as a tablet, laptop or PC.

You will be assessed by building up your portfolio of work and will be required to carry out a micro teaching session to your peers.


NCFE Level 3 Award in Education and Training.

You could progress to a higher teaching or assessing qualification or employment as a tutor within the adult education and training sector.
This course will be delivered online where you will be sent a link from your teacher to join the virtual classroom.

  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
