Are you someone struggling to support your child with Maths? With the return of year 6 SATs this year this course will provide you with increased knowledge of SATs content and how you can support your child.

During the course you will:

• Learn about SATs test content
• Improve your own ability in key areas of maths
• Learn tips and techniques to better support your child

This course is delivered for 12 hours in weekly online 2 hour sessions.
This course is for anyone who was aged 19 or over on 1.8.21.
No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential.
You will need to commit to attending sessions weekly
You will need access to a Laptop or Tablet. Please also have a notepad, pen or pencil and a small folder for handouts and your work.

This course is delivered online. You will need access to the internet and an email account. Your teacher will contact you on a weekly basis through Zoom, email and our online learning platform, Moodle. You will have the opportunity to meet and share ideas with other like-minded people across the County. You will be given tasks to complete at each session along with instructions and online demonstrations
There is no formal assessment but you will be given the opportunity to discuss any concerns with the teacher
You will be given the opportunity to discuss progression to other courses or those which could lead to Maths qualifications.

  • English, maths including GCSEs and computing courses (up to Level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2023).
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your individual employed/self employed income is below £20,319.
  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
