ICDL is an internationally recognised qualification. This level 2 course is designed to introduce you to, and to give a working knowledge of the most commonly used office software. You will gain knowledge and a qualification which you can build on through experience and usage. It follows a structured four-unit syllabus, working through a range of specific knowledge areas and skills. It will allow you to:
• Create word processed documents: enter text, edit and format work, use graphs, tables and pictures for a professional finish, and effectively use tools such as the spell-checker and mail merge. (L2 Word Processing)
• Enter data and format worksheets, to create charts and produce high-quality documents. (L2 Spreadsheets)
• Demonstrate how to produce high-quality presentations using a variety of tools including charts, graphs and drawn objects. (L2 Presentations)
• Use tools to save time and effort when producing word processed documents, spreadsheets and presentations. (L2 Improving Productivity Using IT)
You will work through a variety of exercises to suit your learning needs and will work individually, in pairs or in groups led by a specialist teacher. All learners will have access to a computer for individual practice. There will be some small group work and one-to-one tuition as required. Worksheets and handouts will be used.
