Learning in the local community has changed the lives of many adults across North Yorkshire and you could be one of them!
Research shows that learning throughout adulthood and into later life encourages important social interaction, gives a sense of hope and purpose and helps cope with stress, all of which has a positive impact on maintaining and improving our mental health and wellbeing.
This course will provide an opportunity to read and review autobiographical excerpts and discuss writing style and impact. You will also work on your own stories to support an appreciation of autobiographical writing.
During the course you will:
• Read and review texts
• Discuss your interpretations and preferences
• Write a draft of part of your own life story
This course is delivered for 12 hours in weekly sessions. At the end of this course, you will have created a range of written communication pieces to use for sending or for your own reference.
