Course Content

This qualification is intended for learners who have already acquired a recognised qualification in counselling skills and want to take the next step into training to become a counsellor, learn more about the counselling theory, ethics and mental health or to be prepared for work as a professional counsellor in an agency setting.

You must be a resident of North Yorkshire and aged 19 as at 31st August 2022 to be eligible for this course.

You must have previously achieved CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (RQF) or an equivalent level 2 in Counselling. You will be required to undergo an interview to ensure suitability for this qualification. It is important to note that this qualification is only suitable for those who are looking to gain counselling skills and not for individuals looking to gain counselling.

As this course will be delivered online, you will require basic knowledge and skills in IT and have access to a suitable electronic device such as a tablet or laptop and Wi-Fi. If you do not have access to these, please contact us where we can support or signpost you to the relevant help.

You will be set assignments throughout the course and take part with interactive activities within the class. You will be given developmental feedback by your teacher and will be required to take part in an examination to gain the qualification.

CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (RQF)

This qualification could lead to employment or increase employability for those whose role is to support others in e.g. Health and Social Care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work and other helping roles. Successful candidates may also progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
