Course Content

This is a 1-week non-accredited introduction to Sage Payroll, which needs to be completed prior to progressing to the Level 1 Award in Computerised Payroll for Business (Sage).
This course covers:
• Overview of Sage Payroll Software
• An overview of the Accounts/Payroll qualifications
• English, maths and ICT skills needed for level 1 and 2 qualifications
• Assessing your current English, maths and ICT qualifications
• How will I learn?
• What are the possible progression options?
The course will be delivered in several sessions throught the day, with plenty of short breaks and activities. This is a hands on day.

This course is for anyone aged 19 or over living in North Yorkshire with a valid Post Code.
No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential.

This course will be delivered Online via Skype or Teams, you will need access to the Internet. If you wish to progress to the Level 1 Award in Computerised Payroll for Business you will need a computer and be able to download Sage Payroll from an online platform to allow you to practice on Sage Payroll throughout the course.

Verbal and/or written feedback will be provided throughout this course.

You will achieve an understanding of the requirements of the Level 1 Award in Computerised Payroll for Business (Sage).

This non-accredited Introduction to Sage Payroll, which once completed, can lead to progression to the Level 1 Award in Computerised Payroll for Business (Sage).

  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
