Course Content

With over 65 million internet users in the UK alone, knowing how to stay safe online has never been so important. This short 4 hour course is relevant to all internet users, especially parents and carers, school staff, social workers, education settings etc, the CPD certified online Principles of Internet Safety course will provide you with a wide range of knowledge. It is designed to highlight particular areas of concern for internet users, such as sharing personal information online and the possibility of being groomed online, and it will increase your awareness of what the dangers are when using the internet.





To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2022 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.
You must have a good basic understanding of English, maths and IT.
You will be asked to complete a short assessment prior to this course starting to ensure it is right for you.


This course will be completed online; you will need access to a Laptop or Tablet with regular access to the internet and an email account.
You will receive a login for our learning platform where your resources will be stored, this will allow you to access them whenever you chose to study.


This is a short auto-assessed course. Once completed and assessments achieved you will be able to save a certificate for your own records.



Once completed and assessments passed you will be able to save and print a certificate of completion.



Progression may include another short auto-assessed course, a taught online course or face to face delivery. Options will be discussed with your 'teacher'

  • 92% of our learners receive full funding for their learning. Our mission is to support you on the right learning path (T&C apply).
  • We can offer financial support relating to childcare costs, travel costs, course fees, books etc. (T&C apply).
  • You can pay for your course in instalments (over £100). Please ask for details.
  • English, maths including GCSEs and computing courses (up to Level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2023).
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your individual employed/self employed income is below £20,319.
  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
