Course Content
This course is suitable for those who are new to an office environment, going self-employed or looking to retrain for an accounting/bookkeeping role and have completed the Introduction to Sage Level 1 course.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Use Sage to set up accounts
• Account for payments and receipts
• Produce basic reports showing information entered
• Keep information safe and store data within Sage
• Fundamentals of Bookkeeping
• Obtain a recognised qualification

This course also includes access via the Sage portal to Sage Accounts 2021 Software for 180 days.

This course is for anyone aged 19 or over living in North Yorkshire with a valid Post Code.
No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential. You must have completed the Introduction to Sage Level 1 course.

You will need access to a Laptop.
This course will be delivered online using Teams. You will need access to the internet and an Email account. Your teacher will contact you via Teams/ Email, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to group discussions across the County. You may be given tasks to complete at each session and online demonstrations.

Practice questions and assessments are completed at home and in class. This qualification consists of two units, both of which are assessed at home via the Sage Portal at a time and date to suit you.

Upon Successful completion of a home based Sage Portal Assessment you will achieve the Skillsfirst Level 1 Award in Computerised Accounting for Business.

Skillsfirst Level 1 Award in Computerised Accounting for Business (Sage).
Skillsfirst Level 1 Award in Computerised Payroll for Business (Sage).
AAT Level 2 Foundation Award in Bookkeeping
AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting.
Skillsfirst Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Accounting for Business (Sage).
Skillsfirst Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Payroll for Business (Sage).
AAT Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping
AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting
Skillsfirst Level 3 Diploma in Computerised Accounts for Business (Sage).

  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
