Course Content

This course is for candidates that have completed a knowledge based online L2 Certificate in Counselling Skills who have not completed any practical skills working one to one with peers and would like to progress to L3 Counselling Studies with Adult Learning. This course will underpin the knowledge you have gained whilst building your confidence to use the skills proficiently and ethically on the next stage of your counselling journey.

Open Entry Requirements


To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2022 and a resident of North Yorkshire.

You will be required to undergo an interview to ensure suitability with the course teacher before being accepted onto the course. This will be via telephone call. If you would like to progress to CPCAB L3 Certificate in Counselling Studies with Adult Learning, you MUST complete this course before being accepted.

Open What Will I Need?


As this course will be delivered online, you will require basic knowledge and skills in IT, access to a suitable electronic device with Wi-Fi. Your device MUST have a working camera for one to one work with peers.

Open Assessment Methods


Your assessment will be using counselling skills in one to one sessions using breakout rooms. Working in triads receiving feedback from peers. Tutor Observation and some written work to assess your progress.

  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
