Taking place over two Tuesday mornings, these sessions will be hands on, using everyday ingredients that don’t cost a fortune – the kind of thing everyone has.

We will discuss recipes and suggested alternatives that can be added to make your meals go further and appeal to all your family. With the emphasis on using slow cookers to reduce your utility bills and other cost cutting appliances and ways to reduce waste and costs. Numeracy will be shown how important it can be placed alongside everyday tasks especially preparing and cooking food.

Join this course to enjoy the social aspect of preparing food, which you can then take home.

By combining simple ingredients with store cupboard staples, you will broaden your culinary adventures!

Your teacher will share hints, tips and demonstrate some basic skills.
Dietary requirements will be taken into consideration, so there will be something for everyone.

This is a partnership course only for clients of Carers Plus - Easingwold


To take part in this free course you will need to enrol before the session either online or face to face with a member of our team/carers plus.
You will be provided with an apron and all the ingredients for the session.
At the end of the session, you can either eat the food you have prepared, or take it home, along with recipes for you to make in the future.
A notepad and pen/ pencil may be helpful to take notes during the session




Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.

  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
