Course Content

This is a short non-accredited introduction to the NCFE Level Award in Creative Crafts which needs to be completed prior to progressing to the NCFE Level Award in Creative Crafts.

This course covers:
An overview of NCFE Level Award in Creative Crafts (Textiles)
English, maths and ICT skills needed for this level 1/2 qualification
Assessing your current English, maths and ICT qualifications
How will I learn?
What are the possible progression options?
Is this the right course for me?
Assessment format
Time commitments needed, attendance and planned end dates



To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2023 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.



You will need access to a Laptop if attending online.
You may be given tasks to complete at each session and online demonstrations.



Verbal and/or written feedback will be provided throughout this course.

  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your individual employed/self employed income is below £20,319.
  • If you have not yet achieved a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, you could learn for FREE.
  • Don’t worry if you have already gained a Level 3 qualification, but want to change your career path and try something new – you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan which you start to pay back when you earn over £27,295.
  • From April 2023, some Level 3 courses will be available for FREE to adults who are unemployed or earning below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319), even if you already have a Level 3 qualification or higher.
