Learning in the local community has changed the lives of many adults across North Yorkshire and you could be one of them!

Research shows that learning throughout adulthood and into later life encourages important social interaction, gives a sense of hope and purpose and helps cope with stress, all of which has a positive impact on maintaining and improving our mental health and wellbeing.
This course will provide an opportunity to read, plan and write uplifting short stories
During the course you will:
• Read a range of positive fictional and factual stories
• Discuss the language used to give imagery and warmth to stories
• Plan, draft and write your own uplifting story
This course is delivered for up to 10 hours in weekly sessions

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2023 and not be an apprentice. Further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check this at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.
