Course Content

Our courses can open the door to a range of work and education opportunities along with building confidence in everyday life and work.
Our Recycled Bags course can support you to design and make a bag made from curtains, clothing or any fabric you have around the home.
You will work with measures, convert units and create patterns using symmetry to design your own individual bag
You will also be shown a range of stitches and basic sewing machine skills.
All resources are provided but please bring in some old fabrics if you have any around. If you attend every session, you will take away your own sewing machine.


This course is for anyone who was aged 19 or over on 1.8.23 who is a resident in the UK.
No previous experience is required.

You will need to commit to regular attendance and to complete some study in your own time.


Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.

An attendance certificate to show your commitment to skills building.

Other courses related to personal or professional development or wellbeing. You will be advised of other courses available to you.

Helping you financially

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2024)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
