Awareness of Equality and Diversity.

This is designed for staff and volunteers for an awareness of Equality & Diversity
Covered in the course is an overview of Equality Act 2010
Different types of Discrimination outlined in the Equality Act
Compare terms Equality& Diversity
Look at different types of Legislation associated with E&D
To promote healthy discussion on the subject and look at case scenarios

Learners can progress to Awareness of Safeguarding/ Boundary setting.



Open only to Clients of Age UK.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2023 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.




Please bring a carrier bag of foliage of your choice for the wreath. You can also bring dried oranges or other interesting decorations, an apron is optional.



You will take part in self-assessment activities.
Your teacher will give verbal feedback throughout the course



You will get feedback through the session.



You will have the opportunity to meet with one of our team who will be able to offer advice on the variety of learning opportunities. Other personal and professional development courses will be available to you including a range of accredited and well-being courses such as Art and crafts, Starting your owns business online, Level 1 Employability, Level 1 Customer Service, Awareness of Safeguarding, Cooking on a Budget Level 1 Award in preparing to work in schools, Level 2 Team Leading, Level 1 & Level 2 Maths or English. Your teacher will discuss these with you.

Helping you financially

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2024)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
