To be eligible for a free funded course you must be over 19 years of age as of 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice. Further eligibility may be linked to where you live, and we will check that at enrolment stage; we may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.

Placement opportunity must allow for skills application with babies and young children sufficient to meet the assessment criteria for the qualification.

Learners are responsible for any costs associated with appropriate CRB checks.

This course will be delivered online. You will need to have regular access to the internet, a PC laptop or tablet and email account to make the most of the online sessions. Some paper resources may be sent to you to support you to study.

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. Knowledge based outcomes can be assessed using non–mandatory assessment tasks provided for tutors’ convenience in this specification. Skills based outcomes must be achieved with reference to a real work environment and must include direct observation within the workplace.
