Course Content

This course is for you if you want to go on to the Digital Functional Skills qualification.
This course will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of what you will be undertaking within the Digital Functional Skills qualification. You will gain confidence through having discussions and carrying out tasks to gain an understanding of which future learning pathway is right for you.
This course will cover:
• What learning involves
• What is expected to be done to complete the qualification
• Expectations of yourself and the teacher
• British Values and how they are relevant to digital and IT skills
• Knowledge of how to be successful in your learning

During the course you will be given helpful step-by-step guidance from our specialist teacher

Open Entry Requirements

T
o be eligible for a free funded course you must be over 19 years of age as of 31st August 2024 and not already have a qualification in Digital Skills at Level 1. Further eligibility may be linked to where you live, and we will check that at enrolment stage; we may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.

Open What Will I Need?


You may wish to have a notepad and pen for taking notes and a folder to store notes and handouts.

Open Assessment Methods


Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.

Open What Will I Achieve?


You will receive a Certificate of Completion on completion of this course.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.

Open Progression


You will be able to develop your digital skills further by taking additional courses. For example, you may like to learn more about using Digital Skills and Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Spreadsheets, or about online safety and cybersecurity. Your teacher will discuss progression options with you.

You may like to bring a drink with you to have away from the computer and electrical equipment.

  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
