Course Content


This is a course which is 2 x two and a half hour face to face sessions over 2 consecutive weeks. During the course you will learn about aspects of Autism and how these aspects affect those who have Autism. The session will cover difficulties individuals with Autism can experience, communication issues and ways to overcome these issues and how it might feel to walk in an autistic persons shoes. You will see films about communication methods and how it can feel for a person with autism to be in a public environment. Learners will feel empathy and more understanding of the issues individuals who have autsim will face.



To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2023 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision. This course will involve written work so a good level of written English is necessary in order to achieve the qualification.



This is a face to face and online (hybrid) session, all materials will be provided. If enrolling on the day please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance Number.



You will receive feedback through the session and will complete a workbook to capture the teaching and learning which is taking place. Discussions will take place which will also show awareness of the topic.


You will achieve knowledge and information in Awareness of Autism.




You will have the opportunity to meet with one of our team who will be able to offer advice on the variety of learning opportunities.

  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
