This course is only open to Age UK

This course will help you find out how to stay safe on social media, How to avoid online scams and identify fraud, how to shop and bank online securely and how to keep your laptop, email and mobile phone virus free.

Open Entry Requirements


This course is only open to Age UK

To be eligible for a free funded course you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2023 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.
There are no IT entry requirements; this course is suitable for those who are new to using IT.

Open What Will I Need?


A notepad and pen/ pencil may be helpful to take notes during the session. Mobile devises if you wish but not essesntial.

Open Assessment Methods


Your teacher will give regular feedback at interval to allow you to process your learning opportunity.

Open What Will I Achieve?


You will get feedback throughout the session and an opportunity to progress on to further learning opportunities.

Open Progression


You will have the opportunity to meet with one of our team who will be able to offer advice on the variety of learning opportunities. With a progression opportunity onto to variety of digital skills

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2024)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
