Are you hoping to open up your access to online learning with us but are not sure how online courses work?
Our Teams Language courses can help. Our experienced teachers can explain the vocabulary and skills needed to help you to access Teams and a whole range of online courses. We can show you how to log in, upload and ‘chat’ during sessions to open up your horizons and opportunities.
The course is delivered in a classroom so that you can prepare in person in readiness for online learning
Fees may apply depending on your circumstances but 92% of learners do not need to pay.

Open Entry Requirements


This course is for anyone who was aged 19 or over on 31.8.24 whose first language is not English.
You will need to provide ID (such as a passport or BNO visa) a National Insurance number and we will need to ask you about your residency in the UK.
We will ask you to provide evidence of qualifications you have achieved. If you cannot provide the evidence, we will ask you to undertake an initial assessment to ensure that you are at the right level.
You will need to commit to regular attendance and to complete some study in your own time.

Open What Will I Need?


You will need access to a Laptop or Tablet if you plan to study online. Please be aware that smart phone access is not advised. You will need access to the internet and an email account. For online study, your teacher will contact you on a weekly basis through Teams and email. You will be given tasks to complete at each session, instructions and online demonstrations

If you don’t have access to a computer, we may still be able to support you. Ask for an appointment with a member of staff to discuss our other options.

Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.

Open What Will I Achieve?


An attendance certificate to show your commitment to skills building.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.

Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.

Open Progression


Other courses related to personal or professional development. This could be an exam based speaking and listening course, an ESOL course in reading or writing, an IT, English or maths qualification, employability or a course leading to work.

Helping you financially

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2024)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
