With over 65 million internet users in the UK alone, knowing how to stay safe online has never been so important. This short 4-hour course is relevant to all internet users, especially parents and carers, school staff, social workers, education settings etc, the CPD-certified online Principles of Internet Safety course will provide you with a wide range of knowledge. It is designed to highlight areas of concern for internet users, such as sharing personal information online and the possibility of being groomed online, and it will increase your awareness of what the dangers are when using the internet.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as of 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live, and we will check that at the enrolment stage. We may contact you for further information or refer you to an alternative provision. You must have a good basic understanding of English, Maths and IT. You will be asked to complete a short assessment prior to this course starting to ensure it is right for you.

This course will be completed online; you will need access to a laptop or tablet with regular access to the internet and an email account. You will receive a login for our learning platform where your resources will be stored, this will allow you to access them whenever you choose to study.

This is a short auto-assessed course. Once completed and assessments achieved you will be able to save a certificate for your own records.

Once completed and assessments passed you will be able to save and print a certificate of completion.
Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.
