Course Content

This is a 2-hour session over 3 weeks in which you will learn about the processes and systems to complete one of our distance learning courses. You will have an induction into Equal and teams educator and learn key skills to get you ready to learn online. Progression onto level 2 qualifications in the following subjects:
• Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism
• Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Bullying in Children and Young People
• Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity
• Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice and Guidance
• Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques
• Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading
• Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
• Level 2 Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disability
• Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Distressed Behaviour in Children


To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as of 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live, and we will check that at the enrolment stage. We may contact you for further information or refer you to an alternative provision. No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential.


This is an online session, all materials will be provided. If enrolling on the day please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance Number.


Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.


Skills and understanding needed for distance learning courses.

You will receive an ALSS certificate of achievement on successful completion of this course.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.

Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.


You will have the opportunity to meet with one of our team who will be able to offer advice on the variety of learning opportunities.

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2024)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
