Course Content

This session is aimed at funding officers/bid writers in small charities and VCS organisations who want to increase their confidence in writing funding bids. It is ideal for people who have little or no experience in applying for grants.

The session will support you to:
• Identify suitable funders for your project
• Be clear about your aims and outcomes
• Complete a basic budget and cash flow forecast
The session will offer a range of ‘do and don’t’ tips to help you get started.

Open Entry Requirements


To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2024)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
