Course Content

This course is only open to parents and carers of the children at Braeburn Academy.

The Air Fryer Cooking Course will support you to create nutritious, healthy food for you and all you are catering for. It is a hands-on cooking experience with learner’s carrying out a range of cookery skills, guided by our qualified cookery teacher.

You will be involved in preparing, cooking and clearing up whilst learning basic cookery techniques and food safety. You can take home your completed recipes to enjoy. The recipes will use everyday ingredients that don’t cost a fortune and can be made by using fuel reducing method of the air fryers, discussing different types of air fryers available and equipment to use inside the air fryer. Tips will be passed on to help you achieve these aims!

During the course you will:

• Discuss recipes and alternatives to make meals go further and appeal to all.

• Develop skills in basic food preparation techniques, reducing waste and encouraging all to eat healthily

• Explore ways of using the air fryer with seasonal produce and reduced priced goods

By combining simple ingredients with store cupboard staples, you will broaden your culinary adventures!

Dietary requirements will be taken into consideration so please advise prior to the course if you have any dietary needs including allergies.


This course is only open to parents and carers of the children at Braeburn Academy.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.
No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential.


To take part in this free course you will need to enrol before the session either online or face to face with a member of our team.


Your teacher will feedback at intervals during the sessions.


You will learn various food preparation techniques that you will be able to practice at home and various transferable skills to enhance your life and budget.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.


On completion of this course, your teacher will tell you about other courses available.
