Course Content

The aim of the course is to develop some basic skills in using mobile phones. By the end of the course, you should be able to:
• Explore your device
• Understand settings
• Navigating and exploring apps
• Gaining access to the internet



To be eligible for a free funded course you must be over 19 years of age as of 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live, and we will check that at the enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.


You will need to bring your mobile phone device with you.



Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.


This course will give you knowledge and understanding on how to use your mobile phone device.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills and budgeting are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.


Your teacher will discuss progression options, and these will include the Keeping safe online, Money saving applications and websites, Digital Functional skills qualifications, and Level 1 award in Cybersecurity.

  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
