Course Content

This is a 2-week non-accredited course, which needs to be completed prior to progressing to the Skillsfirst Level 2 Award in Computerised Accounting for Business.

The course will help you to:
• Have an overview of the content of the Skillsfirst Award in Computerised Accounting
• Asses your English, maths and ICT skills needed for Accountancy level 1 and 2 qualifications
• Understand the possible progression options
• Understand the resources required to complete courses using Sage software
• Navigate the Sage qualification website

Open Entry Requirements


To be eligible for a free funded course you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.
Basic IT skills are essential.
You should hold qualifications at level 2 in maths and English. Ideally you should also have completed a level 1 qualification in bookkeeping.

Online sessions - You will need a pen, paper and calculator. You will also need access to a computer or laptop with internet and email.

Open What Will I Achieve?


You will achieve an understanding of the requirements of the Skillsfirst level 2 Computerised Accounting for Business and some of the topics studied in the first module.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.

  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
