Course Content

This course will support your knowledge and development in digital skills for progression. This qualification will allow you to practice and put into place skills you have learnt in previous courses you have done in a more practical and assessed way.
This course will cover:
Digital skills for everyday life
- Be able to use digital skills to handle information outside of the work environment
- Be able to create and edit digital content outside of the work environment
- Be able to use digital skills to communicate outside of the work environment
- Be able to go online and use digital devices safely and responsibly outside of the work environment
- Be able to respond to technical problems outside of the work environment
Using the internet
- Connect to the internet
- Use browser software to navigate webpages
- Use browser tools to search for information from the internet and the world-wide web or an intranet
- Use browser software to communicate information online
- Follow and understand the need for safety and security practices when working online


To be eligible for a free funded course you must be over 19 years of age as of 31st August 2024 and not already have a qualification in Digital Skills at Level 2. Further eligibility may be linked to where you live, and we will check that at the enrolment stage; we may contact you for further information or refer you to an alternative provision.


You may wish to have a notepad and pen for taking notes and a folder to store notes and handouts.


Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course. There is a portfolio of evidence which will submitted to the awarding body.


You will receive a Entry Level 3 Progression award certificate on successful completion of this course.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills and budgeting are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.



Your teacher will discuss progression options with you and these may include the Level 1 award in Progression, Digital and IT skills, Digital functional skills or other digital courses.
