Course Content

This course gives you the opportunity to discover and develop your own individual creative style within textile design. You will learn through tutor led demonstrations and practical activities, in a calming and respectful environment. There will be opportunities to explore a range of materials and textile methods. This course is suitable for beginners who want to develop new ideas and creative textile processes. Or, if you have previous experience in this subject, you will be able to develop these skills and learn new approaches to the techniques.


To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.



To take part in this free course you will need to enrol before the session either online or face to face with a member of our team.


Your teacher will give you regular feedback at various intervals during the course of the afternoon.



Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.


On completion of this course, your teacher will tell you about other courses available, including various craft and Gateway qualification opportunities.


All will be provided - just come along with enthusiasm to learn a new skill.

  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
