Course Content

This comprehensive course aims to equip learners with essential skills in social media and digital marketing. Learners will understand how social media marketing is used to promote products and services, engage with different audiences, and plan and create marketing activities. Additionally, the course covers foundational principles of digital marketing, including writing product descriptions, selecting photos, using social media, writing promotional emails, and creating digital ads. Learners will gain practical skills in marketing products digitally and through social media platforms.
The course will help you to:
• How social media can be used to market products and services
• Different social media marketing channels and platforms
• Characteristics of different audiences
• Engaging with different audiences through social media marketing
• Ideas for social media marketing activities to meet objectives
• Creating an outline plan for social media marketing activities
• Principles for writing a product description for digital marketing
• Commonly used social media platforms for digital marketing
• Ways to use selected platforms for digital marketing
• Principles for writing promotional emails to customers
• Things to include in a digital ad
• Places to market via digital ads




To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2024 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.



You may wish to have a notepad and pen for taking notes and a folder to store notes and handouts.



Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course. There is a portfolio of evidence that you will need to produce.



You will receive the appropriate qualification on successful completion of this course.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as organisation and networking are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway


You will be able to develop your digital skills further by taking additional courses. For example, you may like to learn more about using Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Spreadsheets, or about online safety and cybersecurity. Your teacher will discuss progression options with you.

  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
