Wellbeing courses can be useful to everyone. Our ‘Work/Life Balance’ course will support you to look at ways to manage your busy lifestyle along with ensuring that you have time for yourself and your family.
Through the Work/Life Balance course, you will build confidence in speaking and listening as well as recognising that making small changes will ensure that you can remain motivated and healthy. You will learn to keep your priorities while still managing a busy life.
Our Work/Life Balance course supports you to make friends and communicate in informal situations. It will also help you to recognise how to embrace change and remain in control.



This course is for anyone who was aged 19 or over on 1.8.25 whose first language is not English. You must be a resident of North Yorkshire.
You will need to provide ID (such as a passport or BNO visa) a National Insurance number and we will need to ask you about your residency in the UK.
We will ask you to provide evidence of qualifications you have achieved. If you cannot provide the evidence, we will ask you to undertake an initial assessment to ensure that you are at the right level.
You will need to commit to regular attendance and to complete some study in your own time.





This course is offered online to help you to build relationships and practice speaking about your feelings.

You will need access to a Laptop or Tablet if you plan to study online. Please be aware that smart phone access is not advised. You will need access to the internet and an email account. For online study, your teacher will contact you on a weekly basis through Teams and email. You will be given tasks to complete at each session, instructions and online demonstrations

If you don’t have access to a computer, we may still be able to support you. Ask for an appointment with a member of staff to discuss our other options.




Your teacher will give verbal and written feedback throughout the course.



An attendance certificate to show your commitment to skills building.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.


Other courses related to health or personal/ professional development. This could be an exam based reading writing or speaking and listening course, an English or maths qualification, IT, employability or a course leading to work.

Helping you financially

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2025)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,750
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
