Course Content

This introductory session is designed to familiarise learners with the unique properties and creative potential of air- dry clay.
Learners will explore basic handling techniques – understand the drying process and experiment with simple sculpting methods to build confidence and individual skills.
Through hands on practice and even if you are new to a creative crafts this class is ideal to reflect and connect through clay making.

Open Entry Requirements


To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2025 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.

No previous experience is required.

You may like to have a notebook and pen to create reference notes. All other resources will be provided.

Your teacher will give verbal feedback throughout the course.

Open What Will I Achieve?


You will gain in confidence as you share ideas with other group members, meet new people and make friends, have fun, and discover how to be your own interior designer.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.

  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
