This Introductory course is for complete beginners and not suitable for intermediate and experienced sewers.

This introductory sewing course is ideal for anyone wishing to learn a new skill that will benefit them throughout life. You will develop the confidence to use a sewing machine and gain practical skills that enable you to make garments and sewn items for yourself, your family, and your home. This course is for complete beginners, this friendly and supportive course will help you build your abilities step by step and enjoy the creative process.

Open Entry Requirements


To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2025 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.

To take part in this free course you will need to enrol before the session either online or face to face with a member of our team.

Open Assessment Methods


Your teacher will give you regular feedback at various intervals during the course of the afternoon.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
