This is a partner course for Hunmanby Community Centre.

The course aims to educate and empower individuals working and volunteering in the food industry. It not only focuses on enhancing food safety knowledge and skills but also underscores the importance of supporting those in food poverty. The course aims to equip participants with the essential tools to maintain the highest food safety standards while contributing to initiatives that alleviate food poverty and promote community well-being.

The primary objective of this course is to provide a deep understanding of food safety principles and practices within the context of the food industry, along with the critical role that food support initiatives play in addressing food poverty. It empowers learners to excel in their roles, ensuring food safety, and participate in meaningful efforts to support vulnerable communities.



This is a partner course for Hunmanby Community Centre.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2025.

Further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.



A notepad and pen/ pencil may be helpful to take notes during the session.


You will get feedback throughout the session and an opportunity to progress on to further learning opportunities.


You will have the opportunity to meet with one of our team who will be able to offer advice on the variety of learning opportunities. You will have the opportunity to complete a gateway and employability qualification as progression from this course

  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
