Course Content

This course is for learners who have already completed AAT level 2 bookkeeping or accounting.

It is a 1 week non-accredited introduction to Sage course, which needs to be completed prior to progressing to the VTCT Level 1 Award in Computerised Accounts for Business.
This course covers:
• Overview of the content of the VTCT (VTCT) Award in Computerised Accounts for Business
• The role of the bookkeeper & accountant.
• Calculating net, VAT & gross.
• English, maths & ICT skills needed to complete accounting level 1 & 2 qualifications
• Resources required to complete the qualification.

Open Entry Requirements



You need to have completed an AAT level 2 qualification. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2025 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.

This is an online session. You will need a pen, paper and calculator. THIS COURSE IS NOT SUITABLE TO BE DONE ON A MOBILE PHONE.

You will learn about the VTCT Computerised Accounts for Business qualification works, how the course is marked & common errors to avoid.

Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.

  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,750
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
