Course Content

Writing bids is a fundamental part of running a charity, voluntary or community group. During this session you will:
• Explore tips and strategies for writing a successful bid
• Identify common reasons for bids being unsuccessful
• Discuss the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in writing a bid
A key part of the session will be taking part in a practical activity with a real small grants programme to prepare you for confidently writing your own application.



This course is for anyone who was aged 19 or over on 31.8.25
No previous experience is required. This course is for complete beginners or anyone who would like to build their confidence in this subject.
Basic IT skills are essential if you plan to study online.




You may like to have a notebook and pen to create reference notes. All other resources will be provided.
This course is delivered online using Microsoft Teams. Your teacher will send you a link to join the class 48 hours prior to the session. You do not need to download anything.
Please be aware that smart phone access is not advised.

If you don’t have access to a computer, we may still be able to support you. Ask for an appointment with a member of staff to discuss our other options.




You will get feedback through the session.


Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.
