This programme of learning is for Harrogate Job Centre only.
This friendly, practical session focuses on helping you recognise these new types of AI scams and how to protect yourself.
In this course, you’ll learn:
What AI scams look like today
Understand how scammers use AI to create realistic emails, text messages, voices, and images that can trick even confident internet users.
Common AI‑powered fraud tactics
Explore real examples of AI‑generated phishing messages, fake delivery or banking alerts, voice cloning, and social‑media impersonation.
How to check if something is genuine
Learn simple, practical steps to verify messages, recognise fake content, and avoid clicking on harmful links.
By the end of the session, you’ll be able to spot the signs of AI‑driven scams, know what to do if something feels “off,” and feel more secure using digital devices in everyday life.

This programme of learning is for Harrogate Job Centre only.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2025 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.


This is a face to face session, all materials will be provided. If enrolling on the day please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance Number.


You will get feedback through the session.


Throughout your time learning with us, you will also have developed a whole range of skills that can be transferred from your course to a working environment, your home life or your own personal development.
Skills such as time management, organisation, research skills, networking and presenting ideas are all part of your learning journey along with decision making, problem solving and overcoming obstacles. All these skills will help you to become a confident, self-motivated person and will assist you on your chosen pathway.

You will have the opportunity to meet with one of our team who will be able to offer advice on the variety of learning opportunities.

  • English, maths and computing courses (up to level 1) are FREE subject to eligibility (adult learners aged 19+ at 31st August 2025)
  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,750
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
