Course Content
This course gives you the opportunity to create an item of clothing for a special occasion. You will develop your knowledge of garment construction and sewing skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
During the course you will learn a range of sewing and construction techniques to create a special clothing item of choice such as a dress, shirt, trousers or skirt. Whether this is your first garment or you have some experience, you will be supported to progress at your own pace and skills level to build your confidence in the subject.
This course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to develop existing skills.
You will learn how to use your sewing machine with confidence and develop a range of sewing skills to create clothing for a special occasion. If you have previous experience, you will be encouraged to develop your skills and learn new techniques.
You could move onto further courses in soft furnishings, dressmaking, or a creative textiles course.
Basic materials and equipment will be provided. A pattern and fabric will be required to make the final garment

  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
