Course Content

This is a 2 week non-accredited introduction, which needs to be completed prior to progressing to the AAT Award in Business Skills.
This course covers:
• Overview of the AAT Business Skills qualification and how it will enable you to develop key practical skills used in every business to enhance your employability.
• A flavour of the 2 units covered in the AAT Award in Business Skills - Working within a business environment and Using Numbers in Business.
• An overview of the AAT suite of qualifications
• English, maths and ICT skills needed for AAT level 1 and 2 qualifications
• Assessing your current English, maths and ICT qualifications
• How will I learn?
• What are the possible progression options?


To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August 2023 and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact you for further information or refer you to alternative provision.

No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential.


You will need access to a laptop or computer, & email.

You will need access to the internet and an email account. You will have the opportunity to contribute to group discussions. You may be given tasks to complete at each session. You will also need a pen, paper & calculator.


Verbal and/or written feedback will be provided throughout this course.


You will achieve an understanding of the requirements of the AAT Award in Business Skills.


This non-accredited Introduction to AAT Business Skills, which once completed, can lead to progression to the AAT Award in Business Skills.

  • Reduced course fees for non-qualification courses if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Qualification courses at Level 2 or below are FREE if your income is below £25,000
  • Discretionary Learner Support funding relating to cover fees, books etc (qualifications only) T&C apply.
  • Pay for your course in instalments via direct debit (over £100), ask for details.
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loans for Level 3 courses and above – no repayments until you earn over £25,000
